    1. Hello :),

Patria de Cebu only offers rooms to stay; It is like an old dormitory type building (wood). It is not a hotel, Not sure with curfew I guess they have, the room we stayed before have shared toilet, no shower and lavatory, very small toilet room with a faucet, one pail and a tabo, no clean towels, no locker, we only have electric fan. Rooms are not even double walled; you can hear the noise coming from the hallway and from adjacent rooms…and a lot more. Good for backpack travelers.

  6. Hi! I have tried the accommodations at the Patria de Cebu and you were right! It was a good place to stay for backpackers. I was able to get the single room with private c.r. The pieces of furniture in my room were: bed, chair, table, fan, open cabinet. The c.r. had the basics: toilet bowl, pail and “tabo”. Security was good, too.

Again, thank you for your help in finding this place. By the way, here are the new rates for the Patria de Cebu starting from January 1, 2012:
    Double Room (airconditioned/good for 2 persons/ private c.r.) - 650. 00
    • Extra person – 100. 00
    Double Room (fan/good for 2 persons/twin sharing c.r.) - 300. 00
    Single Room (fan/good for 1 person/private c.r.) - 250. 00
    Single Room (fan/good for 1 person/common c.r.) - 200. 00
    • Extra person for non – aircon rooms – 50. 00

  7. Just saying thank you... Had I not found your post regarding the Patria and your kind answers I would have paid triple the price or more for a room during my stay in Cebu. As it was, all I paid was 500. 00 for a two - day stay. Freed up more money for pasalubong. :-) Again, Thank you.

    1. Hi Jun V.

I am not sure about the usual peak season for this dormitory. All I know is, it is hard to get reservation to this dormitory ahead of time, like months or so. You need to do reservation 1-2 days before your stay in Cebu. Yes it is in front of Cebu Cathedral

  10. Hotels should be priced at this price, and even LOWER! As a comparison, a cheap hotel might cost only 1/2 low person's one- day's wages in the United States. Accordingly, if someone makes P300 per day in Cebu, a room rate of P150 would be fair but the greed from the rich prevent this from happening. Please don't reply with the inane "don't compare" stuff as we need to "JUDGE" and "COMPARE" in making decisions and in seeking fairness in this world.

I would be willing to invest to make more of these type of places and even if my return is only 1% as I do not seek to get rich. There needs to be a balancing with the overpriced accommodations in Cebu.

    1. Hi sir Vin, I don't have updated rates from patria, the update I had was way back 2012, but since this place is known for cheap rooms I think change in rate would be minimal. Thank you ;)
