Choices

Slow down and enjoy life. It's not the scenery you miss by going too fast - You also miss the sense of where you are going and why. ~ Eddie Cantor

The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it but that it is too low and we reach it. ~ MichelAngelo

You never climb higher than the ladder you select. ~ Italian Proverb

We settle for so little at times. We live our fears and hence we don't take risks, try new adventures, think outside the box, or learn new things about ourselves. All we need is present in the moment. In this moment is vision, health, creativity, awareness, risk and humor. So many graces wrapped in the NOW. ~ Anne Vryan Smolline

I have read my sister's collection of books. One of it is the book written by Anne Bryan Smollin, entitled "Live, Laugh and be Blessed." The topic on choices simply left me saying to myself, I should be fully ALIVE! :)

Coping with Frustrations

According to the dictionary frustration is related to anger and much with disappointment. It arises from tough challenges encountered in fulfilling ones goal and desires. And there are no exemptions to feeling this kind of emotion. In one way or another every human being had felt and will feel this emotion all throughout his life.

As for a person who keeps on reaching his goal and giving all his best just to get there, frustration is one thing he should overcome. Especially when people around you already succeeded in getting what they really want in life and you were left behind. At times when you evaluate where you at in your quest and find out your still a million steps away. And the worst when you are feeling grateful and thought that your fine with what you have, yet, when you think twice it is not enough and emptiness still there. Frustration will lead you to other bad emotions like getting envy, ungrateful, unsatisfied, impatient, and a lot more. And worst of it all, it may stop you from renewing your dreams and pursuing your passion to live life to the fullest.

Upon reading a lot of articles on how to deal with frustrations, I could not help but think on how I can get away from being frustrated when I’m into it…

Well, life is always like this and like that. We have our own everyday issues to deal with. But we are always set to fulfill our purpose in this world. Things may be hard most of the time but it does not stay that hard for all times. It is how we deal with our thoughts in every situation that will keep us away or into this thing feeling of frustrations. It is how we think, appreciate and cater every little thing that comes in our way. We have to admit that no matter how thankful and grateful we are with every blessing that we received it can still turn into something not good when we start comparing ourselves with others.

It is normal to feel frustrated in a moment we think and feel we need to. But do not let it get into your system. Take a deep breath. Pause for a moment. Pray more and leave everything to God when you feel it is already heavy. Carry on in reaching your goals. Do not mind if you are still a million steps away from it. The important thing is you keep going and keep taking that step towards it. And always keep in mind that as long as you are still breathing there is always a chance of grabbing the things that you want. And never forget that what God have prepared for you will always prevail. His ways and thoughts are higher than ours. Trust in Him with all your heart and you will surely get to whatever is best for you in the right time and perfect place.

5 Steps to Save Money

For average earners it is really hard to save something for the future. This is true to most Filipino people. If you are going to ask an average employee how much he saves in his 5 years or more from working eight hours a day he will surely say, nothing enough for any circumstances like emergency.

Since savings is a taboo in our family, at this age, I am doing my best to have a savings of my own. Even though it is a little bit late to start and my salary is just enough for my daily needs it does not mean I will make it an excuse not to save. We can always find a way to make a little difference from the usual. I have read a lot of articles regarding managing money as well as investments and I just tried what best fits my financial capacity right now. We are different people with different responsibility choose the ways of saving that will not burden you. I hope the following list can help you.

1.    Know Your Monthly Income. Take time to know your exact salary every 15th of the month or every 30th. Do not overlook on your other income focus on your regular income.

2.    Pay your debt. If you still have pending debts pay them first before you start saving. Admit it; saving when your credit record is fully booked is really a suicide on your part.

3.    Pay your bills. This is a regular routine for people who pay monthly electric bill, water bill, phone and internet plans. Monthly bills are already fix expenses you cannot avoid.

4.    Know your daily and personal expenses within that month or until your next salary. Do not under estimate your budget, it is better to have more than less since this will avoid you from debts. If your personal budget does not include unplanned event then you are close to fail eliminating your debts.

5.    Start saving. For the meantime that you are not yet fully paid with all your debts, you can save from what is left from your salary. A little savings is better than having nothing at all. I tell you, it will become a habit when you do it every salary. When you’re cleared with all your debts from small to the biggest one you can start saving 10% from your salary.

The secret of saving is not a secret at all. It is just a matter of simplifying things within your means. Stick with your budget, live a simple life. Because sooner or later, when you succeed in saving and eventually investing, you will savor the result of making money work for you. And by the way, saving should not be stressful on your part. Reach for a saving goal that is possible to reach and just fits your capacity. Never neglect to live life to the fullest while doing it. If you will not, you will just get frustrated and eventually failed.
